Italy’s most northwestern region, Piemonte, literally translates as “foot of the mountain”. The region shares mountain peaks with neighboring France and Switzerland. Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do in the Alps, like rock climbing, hiking, and skiing.
UNIPMN’s campus has three locations in Piemonte within 60 km of each other; Vercelli Novara, and Alessandria. Vercelli is one of oldest urban sites in Italy.
The area is well-known for its ancient Catholic monasteries, quaint villages, folk festivals, world-renown vineyards, and the elusive white truffle, all excellent glimpses into the traditional culture of Italy.
If you are up for national travel, Italian trains can escort you to the sea-side city of Venice or a longer trip to Florence.
Piemonte is located near the Mediterranean Coast and a short trip south will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre National Park, where you can walk a spectacular path between five villages built on terraced rocky cliffs overlooking the sea.
