Al Akhawayn University
Al Akhawayn University Ifrane (AUI) was inaugurated in 1995. This Moroccan university is grounded in the historical strengths of African, Arab, and Islamic culture; at the same time, it is modeled in its organizational structure, curriculum, method, and language of instruction on the American system of higher education. Just over 1,000 students attend the school, with 160 international students from 28 different countries.

Ifrane at a Glance
The climate shifts from cold in winter to warm days in the summer months.
AUI offers undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, Communication Studies, Human Resource Development, International Studies, Science Engineering, & General Engineering. English is the main language of instruction, and Arabic language instruction courses are also available. Graduate programs are offered in Humanities, Business, Corporate Finance, Computer Networking, Software Engineering, & Computer Science. The Academic Catalog can be found at: www.alakhawayn.ma.
Housing & Meals
Exchange students will stay in AUI dormitories. Bed linens, blankets, and a pillow are provided. All rooms have a telephone and Internet access. There are three restaurants and a café on campus for students to choose from for their meals each day.
UM exchange students to AUI pay their regular tuition, fees, room and board to UM (double room, all-campus meal plan, and orientation costs approximately US$3,700). UM financial aid applies to tuition, living, and travel expenses while on this program.
Students will register for classes upon arrival at AUI, and should plan to enroll in at least 12 credits per semester. Students going to the Arabic program are required to take 6 hours of intermediate Arabic per semester.
